I'll start off by admitting that my participation on the site has been non-existent lately. There has been so much going on that my time has been stretched to the breaking point. This of course means that the site appears dead, as you noted. I can tell you that there are people reading the site. However they appear loathe to participate. This is likely due to the "anti-union" propoganda being spread.

So why is this happening? First, I don't believe it has anything to do with NUHW. This site, and the attempts to get people involved began before NUHW started their effort. I like to think they stole the idea from here!

What is happening is that a few people don't appreciate members that have their own thoughts and opinions. If you don't agree with what these people see as the right way, then you are anti-union. These people then tell everyone they talk to about it. Which leads to the bigger problem...the masses that are unwilling to think for themselves and blindly accept whatever they are told to think or believe.

So thank you for taking the time to read, and understand what is actually here on the site.

I have spoken to multiple people who have come to the same conclusion as you, once they visited the site themselves and read what has been posted. Eye On The 503 is about making SEIU Local 503, OPEU stronger, through the active participation of the members. The site aims to provide an open communication forum that doesn't exist through the currently available 503 web site.

So again, welcome! And I will try to do a better job keeping everyone updated. Whether they're willing to post themselves, or not.

 Just for the record, I thought I would note that this site was registered before the NUHW site. So they stole my idea.  And I only waited as long as I did because I was trying to work with some of the local leadership to get participation. Of course I already documented how well that worked.
