Message for you sir!
We have a message for you Governor Kulongoski! We're as mad as hell, and we're not going to take it any more!
We all realize that times are bad. Really bad. We know you're in a tough spot. We get it! But you just can't fix this problem by putting the burden on the public employees. The numbers just don't add up.
You can ask us to take deep cuts. What you can't get away with is coming to the table with an offer, only to yank it back as soon as it looks like we'll accept. To add insult to injury, you just keep asking for more! Even when we offered you exactly what you wanted, it just wasn't good enough!
You may have a short memory, but our membership doesn't. This isn't the first time you gone after SEIU Local 503. In fact, you use our members every year for your own personal gain.
To all the brothers and sisters in SEIU Local 503, now is the time to stand together. We can't afford to take the current proposal. If it looks like a trap, smells like a trap, and has a giant billboard reading, "TRAP!," it's a trap.
So purple up! Join the march on management! Even they should be scared of what the Governor is offering! We have to stand strong for the best contract possible in these difficult times!
I also urge every member of SEIU Local 503 to BOYCOTT the Governor's Food Drive! Every year the governor takes the credit for the hard work, and financial support of the public employees. I know that everyone supporting this farce has the best of intentions and want to help those in need. If you want to volunteer, or donate food, there are other charities that can help. If the Governor doesn't support us, why are we supporting him?!?
Have you got the message Governor Kulongoski? Has everyone got the message?
Scott
